GEORGE TOWN, PENANG
Built around the needs of Malaysians navigating their financial middle years.
Bestari Hub was founded to fill a specific gap — quality financial education that speaks to the experience and circumstances of Malaysians in their 40s and 50s.

How Bestari Hub Began
The idea for Bestari Hub emerged from a simple observation: most personal finance resources available in Malaysia were aimed at young adults just starting out, or at high-net-worth individuals with access to private wealth management. The person in their mid-40s — managing a small business, approaching retirement, raising a family, and watching their parents age — had very few places to turn for grounded, practical financial guidance.
We opened our George Town premises in 2019 with a modest first programme and a clear intention: to offer financial education that was genuinely useful to people at a meaningful stage of life. Not generic advice imported from overseas markets. Not products disguised as guidance. Just clear, honest financial education shaped around Malaysian realities.
The name Bestari — a Malay word meaning knowledgeable, capable, and learned — reflects what we want for every person who walks through our doors.
OUR MISSION
What We Are Here to Do
Our mission is to make financial clarity accessible to Malaysians who are ready to take their personal finances seriously. We believe that understanding your money — your EPF position, your insurance coverage gaps, your retirement healthcare costs — should not require a degree in finance or a relationship with a commission-earning adviser.
We do this through small-group programmes, practical tools, and a learning environment where participants feel comfortable asking the questions they have been carrying for years.
Our Core Values
- Honesty over reassurance — we share what the data shows
- Context over generics — Malaysian numbers in Malaysian situations
- Education over product — no sales agenda, ever
- Respect for where each person is starting from
- Continued support beyond the final session

HOW WE WORK
Our Standards and Approach
Evidence-Based Content
All data used in our programmes — from medical inflation figures to EPF return projections — is drawn from publicly available Malaysian government and industry sources. We update content annually.
Participant Confidentiality
What participants share during sessions stays within those sessions. We do not share participant details with third parties, and we do not pass contact information to financial product providers.
Clear Educational Scope
Our educators are clear about the boundary between financial education and financial advice. When situations call for a licensed adviser, we say so plainly and help participants understand what to look for.
Regular Content Reviews
Tax law changes, EPF policy revisions, and healthcare cost shifts are reviewed and incorporated into our programme materials at the start of each calendar year.
Small Group Sizes
We cap groups at eight participants per cohort. This is not a commercial decision — it is an educational one. Smaller groups allow meaningful engagement and the ability to address individual questions properly.
Post-Session Accessibility
Participants can reach their facilitator with follow-up questions for four weeks after the final session of any programme, by email or phone. We want learning to continue beyond the classroom.
Financial Education in George Town, Penang
Bestari Hub operates from our premises at 2 Jalan Transfer, in the heart of George Town, Penang — a short walk from the historic core of one of Malaysia's most culturally layered cities. Our location in Penang reflects our connection to a community that has long valued learning, craft, and considered decision-making.
The financial challenges facing Malaysians in their 40s and 50s are specific and pressing. EPF savings adequacy, the cost of private healthcare in retirement, the structure of personal finances when a business is involved — these are not abstract concerns. They are the real situations our participants bring to us, and they shape every programme we design.
We serve participants from across Penang island and the mainland, as well as those who travel from northern Peninsular Malaysia. Our programmes are conducted at our George Town premises, and enquiries from outside the region are welcome.
